There is something most thrilling to me as a sky watcher about walking in the moonlight and trying to capture the perfect atmospheric refraction. Some of the best scenery I’ve captured are with the refraction of my eyes. When the beauty of light passes through the atmosphere, it is refracted just as it does through our eyes. If you ever walked in the moonlight you would feel just how it protects us, nourishes us, and gives us life.
As eerie as the scene may be with the refraction of light at night I find comfort in knowing it surrounds me with the warmth and guidance I need to feel safe. It always helps that I never walk in the moonlight alone or in the dark for that matter as I need that refraction of light in my life.
When I look at these photos the warmth I see in this light seduces my mind, body, and soul. There isn’t anything more exhilarating than being seduced by moonlight. Well that is if your not in a pitch dark room that you can’t see, feel, or hear anything more than the warm breath of someone breathing down your neck, but that’s another story.
Have you ever experienced that overwhelming spell that someone has placed you under when you lose your self-control? If not than take a walk and feel the moonlight on your skin some clear night and feel the cool breeze blowing through your hair. Walk hand and hand in the moonlight and find that perfect atmospheric refraction, take a deep breath and take in that moment of beauty. The strength and warmth that will wrap around you in this light can be an overwhelming experience. This is the kind of stress management that everyone should practice to feel the weight of the world being lifted off your shoulders.
